Congressman Clay’s Letter of Condolence to Bosnian American Community

December 2, 2014 – Washington, D.C. – Congressional Caucus on Bosnia Member, Congressman William Lacy Clay (D-MO) sent a letter of condolence to the Bosnian American community today expressing his deepest sympathies regarding the murder of thirty two year old Zemir Begic who was brutally attacked by at least three teenagers with hammers early Sunday in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Begic suffered injuries to his head, abdomen, face and mouth. He died at St. Louis University Hospital.

In his statement, Congressman Clay voiced his readiness to work with the local law enforcement and other elected officials to provide the resources required to increase police manpower, encourage community policing at the neighborhood level, and restore a sense of security to this vital neighborhood. Further, Congressman Clay praised the contributions that the Bosnian American community has made in South St. Louis.
